瀬戸芸作品『ヤザイモン蛸』＠二十四の瞳映画村
10/3から瀬戸内国際芸術祭2025の秋会期がスタート！
二十四の瞳映画村には今回の芸術祭から新たな作品『ヤザイモン蛸』が増えています。
木彫りの香川に伝わる妖怪「ヤザイモン蛸」が大きな塩釜から出てきています。
映画村の作品は瀬戸芸の会期外もご覧いただけますがう、入村料が必要です。
Indulging our senses and drinking salt water are alike
Inspired by a large salt cauldron at the Movie Village on Shodoshima, the artist has carved a large wooden Yazaimondako, a giant one-legged octopus yokai native to Kagawa.
This is the artist’s interpretation of a local folktale in which a man named Yazaimon finds a giant octopus napping and steals and eats seven of its legs, one day at a time.
